New York Grandparents Denied Custody in Family Court Case
A New York child custody case in Erie County Family Court has resulted in two children being removed from their grandparents’ home and placed with their father in Florida. The kids were taken away from their mother, who was accused of “medical child abuse.” The mother’s request to have the girls placed with her parents was denied by a judge, who granted the father custody. Texas Woman Facing Child Custody Charge After Abducting Son
Law enforcement officials have accused a Texas woman of abducting her child from a North Richland Hills business. The 4-year-old boy was found safe this week and the mother is facing a child custody charge. The 34-year-old mother was taken into custody on Monday and is being held on a $20,000 bail. Judge Rules Against Visitation for Accused Murderer Father
A Boston-area father accused of killing his children’s mother will not get visitation rights, for now. According to a juvenile court judge, the grandmother, who is caring for the two children, will not be required to take the children to see their father in jail. The father is accused of killing his daughters’ mother in January of 2016 and is being held at the Bristol County Jail. His child custody case has been continued to Jan. 21, 2021. During the pandemic, electronic evidence, such as recordings from phones, Zoom meetings, doorbell cameras, and “nanny cams,” are increasingly being used in family law cases. According to officials, the number of unaccompanied children at the U.S.-Mexico border testing positive for the virus has increased by 35 percent in recent weeks.
